RECENT RESULTS (At the Line)

Sea Eagles 12 - 48 Sharks
OUR TIP: Sharks by 9 WIN
A knock on Manly this game or a wrap on the Sharks who seem to finally have taken that next step? Manly at home on a Sunday afternoon were abysmal, started well enough but fell off the perch. The Confidence in the Sharks to start Fonua-Blake off the bench, shows just how far they have come. Brailey has gone to another level as have some of the young forwards coming through the ranks. The big improver though is Hynes who is playing like the bloke they got from the Storm in dictating games and making right decisions. The entire Sharks back line has never played better and this has a lot to do with the Coaching that is going on down the shire. One significance that may have been missed, is the fact that the Manly decline has come at the same time as losing Brooks. Anyway the season is done and dusted for the Sea Eagles in 2026 and time to shop around for a good defensive Centre and strengthen the Bench, Oh and a first grade standard Hooker. The older Brailey Boy down at Canberra would be a great Manly fit for them in 2027!
Dragons 18 - 38 Titans
OUR TIP: Titans by 3 WIN
The Dragons were backed into favourites in this game based on hype, not on form and the media driven punter paid the price. We took the 1.5 start the Goldy and it become an easy watch towards the end of the game. The Titans form in beating Many the week before was forgotten by most. Yes the Dargons form has been much better lately but they are still pedestrian in attack. Next season offers so much more for the Dragons supporters, as does the Titans team too but that is next year. The young Dragons team is starting to feel the pinch, just as all youngsters finding their legs in 1st grade. Not many first season players, whether backs or forwards stay consistent during the first 40 games of their career, this is not criticism it is fact. Anyway the form side got the cash and that helped straighten the weekends round.
Cowboys 18 - 10 Broncos
OUR TIP: Broncos by 6 LOSS
Two tries apiece but miles apart on the field. The Broncos embarrassed themselves with the lack of discipline and stupid dumb mistakes. Instead of playing Football they tried to emulate Bazball, throwing caution to the wind and this Seasons semi prospects. McGuitre is quick to feather his own nest when they win but hand balls the blame around losses. The style they played with last nigh was embarrassing for a first grade team with under mistakes under 12s would not make. Personally, i feel the team outside a few players didnt want to take the bumps. Anyway the Broncos dream of back to back GFs, is also Blowing In The Wind. Question now for the Cowboys, How did you Leave Clifford out of last weeks side? My Answer, unless he was Injured, it was dumb arrogance, a common disease amongst some of the Coaches these days and this one may cost the Cowboys a top 4 spot? Anyway, Time Will Tell, as always!
Bulldogs 18 - 6 Warriors
OUR TIP: Warriors by 5 LOSS
The Bulldogs had to much overall Class on the night and the score flattered the Warriors who were never really in the game. If the Dogs Coaching Staff had admitted to their halves problem earlier in the Season they may be sitting inside the Top 4 instead of on the edge of the 8. Funny again how arrogance can bite your own Arse! Still the blokes who run off of Galvin deserve a medal for their bravery as he does not pick the moment, he copies what he does at Training. One of the Worlds top ever Try scorers Brian Bevan spoke about doing what is not expected, it works. Hayward is growing into the Hooking Role as well as the Season progresses and the Dogs have enough Class to go deep into the Comp, if they make the 8?
Raiders 56 - 10 Tigers
OUR TIP: Raiders by 13 WIN
Imagine if the Doueihi Saga did have an affect on the Tigers, they may have got beat by 100. Hard situation with no winners. My take on this, back when I was playing, we had a semi to pay and our prop got caught on gthe drink the day before and instead of owning up, pretended he had a shoulder Injury and wasnt playing. Did not turn up at the ground the next day but turn up at the Pub later where words were exchanged. During the week the players said they did not care if he played in the GF or not. He ended up playing and we won the GF but to this day he has never owned it and relationships have remained strained, 35 years afterwards. My solution is there is fault on both sides and why punish one for this but reward a player who is leaving the Club for Money? Hopefully they can all have a beer together and sort it out, otherwise the supporters of the Tigers are the Ones who will suffer long term! Canberra too good on the day!
Rabbitohs 28 - 26 Storm
OUR TIP: Draw WIN
Souths won a nail biter and this win will be so important to see if they make the Finals, losing last night may have been a termination of their season. Bennett again has shown his genius in sticking with Ward and Dufty, when they were both under big scrutiny and they both stood up. Humphreys too has shown how important he is to the side and hopefully for the Burrow they find a way to keep him. The Cody Walker send off mas been Divine Intervention where Waker has had a look at himself and now come out the other side after reflection. Unfortunately younger Latrelle is having some trouble with his defence and maybe Campbell Graham at Centre and Younger Latrelle on the Wing is worth A TRY! Souths may be a side to fear in the Finals if they happen to get all their big name and big game players back and fit?

From The Author

BestLeagueRatings is a time proven Rugby League Rating System which was created around 30 years ago to take the emotional side out of your Rugby League Selections.

This system of Ratings has been pursued by Gambling Agencies but the Owner, Creator has stayed loyal to grass roots Rugby League Supporters.

The Owner has been offered deals by a few large Gambling Agencies but along with his upbringing would prefer to support the battlers.

Time now for making this successful formula open to all, where a subscriber can enter their own intuitive Player Ratings into BLRs unique stats formula and get a predicted game margin based on their input, as well as a Professional BLR game rating.

Years ago confronted by a renowned Journalist about who did my player ratings, when I replied "I did", the Journalist rolled his eyes to his Journalist mate to which I replied, "If you have to play 1st grade NRL to know anything about League, we would have a lot of empty newspapers."

A First Grade, Australian Rep sitting with us put the Journo in his place as well.

Any way the time is right now for the Player Rating side of the formula to be opened to Rugby League Supporters.

Titans Vs Sea Eagles

38 - 32

OUR TIP: Sea Eagles by 3 WIN
After a slow start the Titans started to hit their straps and then won Lotto when Turbo had to leave the field. To have Matty Johns tied up with the Titans is a master stroke and when you realise the work that Johns did with the Storm halves over the last 20 years you realise that every half under his tutelage becomes a much better player, hence Harrison in the right place at the right time. I was up in the air regards JoJo playing Origin but this has improved him just like Toia now reaching his potential max. Pascoe another hooker who has done his apprenticeship and now ready to star in the NRL. If the Titans can become a consistent top 8 side the growth of the game on the Goldie will explode. Manly lost the plot after Turbo left the field but picked up again late. I feel Manly need a top class defensive Centre and a first grade hooker to make their move up the table.
18.07.26

Bulldogs Vs Tigers

32 - 0

OUR TIP: Bulldogs by 8 WIN
The Bulldogs ground the Tigers into the turf and may have forced their hand to bring on next Seasons number 6 instead of trying to shore up this Season. I am not sure of the inner workings of the Tigers but they are no chance of Finals footy this year, so time to develop for next Season. This is not a shot at Luai but for the best for the Tigers. Marshall with his Bennett impersonation last week has now dug himself into a bit of a hole but he can Coach and it is time to start focussing on next year, as the Boat has sailed on Season 2026. It wasnt the fact the Tigers got beat but there seemed a lack of effort which should not happen when the Finals are still a possibility. Ironically the Tigers made their Ex Galvin look like a Superstar! Next Season with no games at the 8th Wonder Of The World, as it gets remodelled, this may not help the limping Tigers either, as this is the only ground they have a positive win record. Plus I used to sell Hot Dogs there on the Hill, just a bit of Trivia, to send you Mad!
17.07.26

Roosters Vs Storm

14 - 6

OUR TIP: Roosters by 11 WIN
The Roosters got the job done against their Storm nemesis after some scratchy moments. Too many times the Roosters played to get a kick in instead of attacking where the gaps were, easy fix by someone as smart as Robinson. A couple of the Roosters may need a week off, just showing a bit of fatigue which gets all over the long season. It is etched in history how some sides will always get up agains a certain side and this definitely shows in the long time stats.. Over 50 years ago Newtown Hawks would win every Comp but the side running last Campo Dragons, would always give them a shake, Why? all went to the same school and the Dragons would always get up for the game. Anyway the Roosters, like all good sides got the job done and found a way to win, good sides always do, pretenders dont!
17.07.26

Sharks Vs Knights

20 - 18

OUR TIP: Sharks by 8 WIN
Sharks got the job done at home against the brave Knights but did get a call that was wrong that led to an early try, that could cost the Knights a top 4 position. How do the Refs make a call on what they see when obviously they did not see it what the head believes. For this season especially I thought the biggest danger to the Comp was Corrupt Flow Refereeing endorsed by Corrupt ex Politician Annesley but some of the dumb calls that has led to two sides chances of a minor premiership and the other a top 4 shows how fragile the Refereeing is. Again this is under the NRL High Performance, which does not exist. If there are reasons Refs are stuffing up because of the speed of the game, Bosses should fix it, not lay the burden on the Supporters. The day that the Supporters form a base and elect a Leader to liase with NRL Bosses the long term betterment of the game will be a chance! Back to the game, Sharks certainly are playing their best footy of the Season and unfortunately the Knights are showing up for games but just light on forwards. When will Wingers be directed by their Coaches to play the ball and not the man, cinchy defence! Anyway Congrats to the Sharks Coach to get the consistency flowing and congrats to the Knights Coach for turning the Club around.
